Sedation Dentistry
Is Sedation Dentistry Right for You?
You may wish to consider oral sedation if you experience the following:
Extreme fear or anxiety when facing a dental appointment
- Hypersensitive gag reflex
- Difficulty getting numb prior to dental procedures
- Facing lengthy or multiple dental procedures
How Does Oral Sedation Work?
- Schedule your first visit to discuss your needs. We will gather your health and registration information and do an initial exam if you are comfortable enough to participate.
- You will receive a prescription for an oral sedative that you will take the night before your appointment.
- A companion should drive you to your appointment. When you arrive for your appointment you will be given additional medications to help you achieve maximum relaxation. You will be monitored by our sedation team throughout your visit.
- Your companion will drive you home and remain with you until you are fully recovered from your sedation medications.
You will recall little or nothing of your dental visit – lengthy procedures will seem to take only minutes. Call us at ForwardDental to discuss sedation dentistry and schedule your appointment.
